ISG wins SECDEF Award for Excellence in Maintenance Training, Advice, and Assistance of Foreign Security Forces – Ministerial Category
Posted: Nov 3, 2020
Mark Huber
The Institute for Security Governance (ISG) is humbled and proud to accept the Secretary of Defense Award for Excellence in Maintenance Training, Advice, and Assistance of Foreign Security Forces in the Ministerial Category, for a second year in a row. The 2020 award recognizes ISG’s efforts with partners in the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) to build capacity to conduct Capability Based Assessments (CBAs) to strengthen the effectiveness of one our important Middle Eastern partners.
ISG’s Jordan project team distinguished itself by facilitating an urgent CBA focused on Long-Range Precision Strike at the request of US officials assigned to the Military Assistance Program – Jordan (MAP-J), in addition to conducting a comprehensive logistics CBA to support creation of an integrated Jordanian logistics enterprise. Actions taken to address capability requirements from these efforts will drive long-term recapitalization of Jordan’s F-16 fleet and generate more than $100 million in sustainment cost savings over the next five years—while simultaneously boosting JAF combat effectiveness and interoperability with US and NATO forces.
“The CBA experts assigned to ISG’s Jordan team have done extraordinary work since the launch of our institutional capacity building project in Jordan in 2017,” remarked Mark Huber, ISG’s Regional Program Lead for this project. “But the innovative results produced by the team were only made possible by the strong working relationships we built with our Jordanian counterparts and the exceptional support we received from MAP-J. The award represents the collective dedication, hard work, and professionalism of JAF and MAP-J leaders working shoulder-to-shoulder with ISG.”
Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this successful project.
