Mr. Jordan Chroman is a Senior Lecturer for the International Defense Acquisition Resource Management (IDARM) program at the Institute for Security Governance (ISG). In this role, Mr. Chroman provides instruction on a broad range of topics to multinational students in Monterey. He also travels around the globe to provide educational and professional development opportunities to students from allied and partner nations.
Prior to his role at ISG, Mr. Chroman’s nearly 30-year military career included leadership and operational roles ranging from Company, Battalion, and Brigade command as well as senior staff roles ranging from Executive Officer, Legislative Liaison, Military Deputy at the Pentagon, and as a Chief of Staff. He has spent extensive time as a planner and is well-versed in tactical through strategic operations. During his career, he participated in multiple named military operations around the world, ranging from humanitarian assistance, to peace enforcement and peacekeeping, to multiple combat tours throughout the Greater Middle East and other regions.
Mr. Chroman’s military career spanned considerable time with storied tactical formations such as the “All American” 82nd Airborne Division, with Special Forces’ “Quiet Professionals,” and the “Screaming Eagles” of the 101st Airborne Division, along with a number of other airborne and rapidly deployable units. He commanded troops on multiple occasions; as a Company Commander in Iraq, Germany, and Bosnia, as a Battalion Commander in Germany, and as a Brigade Commander in the Republic of Korea and Japan in addition to serving in various senior staff positions in combat and around the globe. Mr. Chroman also served in Operational and Strategic postings including assignments as an Operations Officer with British Forces and tours as a Congressional Legislative Liaison on Capitol Hill and with the Office of the Secretary of Defense in the Pentagon.
He is a graduate of numerous military schools and received MSs from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida and the National War College in Washington, DC. His awards are commensurate with a Soldier of his rank and service and in 2008, he was invested into the Order of the British Empire by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. He sits on several boards and volunteers regularly in his community. Mr. Chroman is married to Heather and is the proud father of two exceptional children.
