Institute Operations
Ms. Laurie Chavez works in the Budget & Finance section of the Institute for Security Governance’s (ISG) Institute Operation Division. Her primary responsibility is to address reimbursable funding for the Institute. Ms. Chavez also serves as the building coordinator which includes property management and facilities upkeep. Ms. Chavez oversees a team of three that processes many types of funding documents to support activities all over the world. In addition to working the daily funding, Ms. Chavez actively works the IT assets for ISG.
Ms. Chavez has 33 years with the Federal Government, beginning her career as a GS-2 for the F-111 Acquisition Branch under the Material Air Command as Admin support, which included monthly reports to Congress.
Prior to ISG, Ms. Chavez was the purchasing agent for the School of International Graduate Studies (SIGS) at the US Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). Ms. Chavez also previously worked for the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) in the Northwest Pacific Region. Her responsibilities included the forecasting of Best Value Goods for commissary shoppers. Before DeCA, she was a part of the Dental Client, Safety Office, and the F-111 Branch at McClellan Air Force Base.
Ms. Chavez is Finance Official and Contracting Official Certified.
