Laurie Chavez - Institute for Security Governance

Ms. Laurie Chavez works in the Management, Operations, and Administration (MOA) finance section for the Institute for Security Governance (ISG). Her primary responsibility is to address reimbursable funding for the Institute. Ms. Chavez has worked in the finance arena since 2015 and is Finance Official and Contracting Official Certified. Ms. Chavez also serves as the building coordinator which includes property management and facilities upkeep.
Prior to ISG, Ms. Chavez was the purchasing agent for the School of International Graduate Studies (SIGS) at the US Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). Her experience in this position included performing contracting duties related to requests for information (RFIs) out for bid and awarding small contract supplies.
Ms. Chavez previously worked for the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) in the North West Pacific Region. Her responsibilities included the forecasting of Best Value Goods for commissary shoppers. Before DeCA, she was a part of the Dental Client, Safety Office and the F-111 Branch at McClellan Air Force Base.
