Special Projects Officer
Mr. Michael Cho joined the Institute for Security Governance (ISG) in January 2022 and serves as a Special Projects Officer.
Mr. Cho has over 30 years of combined professional leadership experience spanning Active-Duty military service, private sector, and Federal Government, with an emphasis on leading people and organizations through change, modernization, and business transformation. He has certifications and training in Defense Acquisition Workforce Initiative Act (DAWIA) Program Management level 2, DAWIA Information Technology Level 1, Senior Level Federal Acquisition Certification Program/Project Management (FAC-P/PM), Lean Six Sigma, and is a Professional Sciences (PROSCI) certified Change Management Practitioner.
Prior to joining ISG, Mr. Cho served the past ten years at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in department-level enterprise integration roles for Corporate Analysis and Evaluation, Performance Management, and Risk Management. His most recent assignment was the Chief Operating Officer for a 3,500+ Full-time Equivalent (FTE) Healthcare Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (AT&L) organization that procured over $8 billion annually of medical equipment, supplies, and services for the U.S.’s largest and most complex healthcare system comprised of 1000 VA medical centers and outpatient clinics nationwide.
Before joining the VA, Mr. Cho worked at the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Business Transformation Agency (BTA) and Fortune 50 Pharmaceutical Companies. He began his career as a U.S. Army Military Police Platoon Leader deployed to Korea during a period of heightened tensions between North Korea and the U.S.
Mr. Cho originally hails from New York City and is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, with degrees in Economics and Systems Engineering. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities and collaborates with his wife screenwriting drama and comedy genre TV and film screenplays.
