Thomas Durell-Young Comments on the Utility of Long-Term Defense Planning

Posted: Jan 11, 2018

Thomas-Durell Young, director of CCMR's EUROPE program, has recently published an article entitled "Stripping the Altars of Long-Term Defense Planning.'" Full text here, courtesy of War on the Rocks, 11 January 2018.

The article asserts that the current practice of long-term defense planning appears to be different than what was originally envisioned by its creators, and maintains that built-in flexibility is paramount in future calculations.

War on the Rocks is described as a "platform for analysis, commentary, debate and multimedia content on foreign policy and national security issues through a realist lens." Access their website here.
