Counter Threat Awareness Training (CTAT) - PREVIOUSLY SECURITY OVERSEAS SEMINAR

This training is focused on risk and security in High Threat Regions.

CTAT training takes approximately 5 hours to complete. CTAT certificates are valid for 5 years.

Step One: Admission to the Foreign Service Institute (FSI)

  1. This training is housed by the Foreign Service Institute Training (FSI). Before you can apply for the CTAT course, you must first apply for admissions with the Foreign Service Institute (FSI).

    • For Agency Type, please select “Other Government Agency” and then “DoD“

    • Contact your Operations Coordinator for the sponsor information.

    • This request will be processed within 5 - 7 business days. Once admission is successful, FSI will send a follow-up email containing student account information required for course enrollment.

    • For any admission process issues, please contact FSIRegAdmissions@state.gov

Step Two: Enrollment in Counter Threat Awareness Training (CT401)

  1. Request CTAT enrollment at this website:  https://sis.fsi.state.gov/MySISWeb/s/coursesearch/ds-courses

Step Three: Course Completion and Certificate

  1. Once you have completed the course, please send a copy of your completed training certificate, including your name and date, to your Program Support Coordinator to update your travel records.
