The Institute for Security Governance (ISG) is humbled and proud to accept the Secretary of Defense Award for Excellence in Maintenance Training, Advice, and Assistance of Foreign Security Forces – Ministerial Category. ISG is being recognized, along with our partners in the EUCOM Directorate of Policy, Strategy, Partnering, and Capabilities, for its work on Sustainment Planning with one of our important European partners.

Through its work on this team, ISG enabled a key partner to meet sustainment outcomes and establish enduring capabilities. The team worked closely with our partner to develop, implement, monitor and improve sustainment plans for equipment provided by the United States, and to develop the long-term institutional capabilities and capacity of this partner for sustainment and maintenance. Achievements were made in innovations in practices as well as improvements to facilities that have and will result in significant cost saving for the partner and the United States, as well as increases in operational readiness rates and combat utilization. This effort is representative of some of the best work we are privileged to do in institutional capacity building and is an example for what the Institute strives for every day.

Congratulations to Col. (ret.) Gary Espinas, ISG’s Regional Program Lead for this project, and the rest of the ISG team for a job well done.
