Mr. Eric Law is the Resident & Mobile Education Programs Lead at the Institute for Security Governance (ISG), responsible for overall curricular and operations support to ISG's education programs within the Practice & Capability. In this role, he coordinates and facilitates government and contract colleagues' planning, execution, and reporting for all of ISG's resident, mobile, and virtual courses.
Prior to his current role at ISG, Mr. Law worked on the Institute's team of contract staff supporting resident and mobile course operations. He also interned in ISG's with its Prevention, Relief & Recovery program, developing and teaching modules for multiple courses in the fields of conflict management and recovery.
Before coming to ISG, Mr. Law spent more than a decade overseas in Guangzhou, China, and Alexandria, Egypt, working for private and non-profit organizations in adult education and educational administration. In China, his role at EF Education First encompassed facilitation, capacity building, training, curricular development, and moderating course material for the international company's 80,000 adult learners nationwide. In Egypt, he worked for the State Department-funded education non-profit AMIDEAST.
Mr. Law holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Delaware, and he received his Master of Arts in International Policy & Development from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, where he specialized in Conflict Resolution & Social Justice, with a language focus on Mandarin Chinese. His graduate practicum built on his internship at CCMR, with a focus on measuring and improving outcomes and training for de-radicalization, disengagement, rehabilitation, and reintegration of violent extremists. During graduate school, he also served as a program evaluation design consultant for the international non-profit Search for Common Ground in its initiative to improve governance and social cohesion in a region experiencing violent conflict and ethnic cleansing. He is an avid explorer of global gastronomy.
