Resident Advisor

Resident Advisor
Prior to entering the Strategic Defense Advisor program, Ms. Renwick served as the Chief of the Building Partner Capacity (BPC) Branch of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM). The Building Partner Capacity Branch is the principal advisor to the Commander, AFRICOM on Train and Equip, and Institutional Capacity Building activities. Ms. Renwick provided advice to AFRICOM and Department of Defense (DoD) senior leaders by identifying and focusing AFRICOM’s response to issues with major defense, national security, foreign military sales and foreign policy implications.
Ms. Renwick specializes in programing for Partner Nation’s militaries, policy writing, budget process, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. Ms. Renwick coordinated with Regional Engagement Divisions, Intra-agency, and Interagency partners on numerous issues to leverage partnerships in implementing new initiatives and information sharing to build and maintain relationships.
Ms. Renwick is a retired Lieutenant Colonel whose military experience includes serving as an Officer in the Aviation Branch of the U.S. Army and Security Cooperation. Ms. Renwick is certified in both the Apache Attack and Kiowa Helicopters. She participated in Operation Joint Forge, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the continued NATO mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ms. Renwick earned her B.A. in Criminology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her M.S. in General Administration at Central Michigan University. She also attended Harvard University’s Emerging Leaders Program and is Security Cooperation Intermediate certified.
