Ms. Sara Jacob is the Middle East Cyber Regional Lead within Practice & Capability at the Institute for Security Governance (ISG). She joined the Institute in March 2024 to lead its Cyber Institutional Capacity Building advisory and educational efforts with partners and allies in the CENTCOM area of responsibility. Possessing over 17 years of expertise in Cyber Capacity Building and Strategic Intelligence, Sara has garnered extensive experience in the Federal Government, the Intelligence Community (IC), and the private sector.
Throughout her career, Sara dedicated more than 15 years to supporting the U.S. Government in various capacities related to Federal cybersecurity policy and guidance. Notably, she served as the Lead Security Control Assessor at Booz Allen Hamilton, overseeing four NASA space centers and leading a team responsible for security assessments on NASA systems, both information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT).
As a former Cyber Threat Analyst and FBI Academy Faculty member, Sara undertook diverse roles, including Post-Blast Investigations, Interview, Interrogation, and Statement Analysis Expert, Covert Cyber Operations, and active participation in cyber threat intelligence teams. Her responsibilities involved assessing the latest threat actor techniques and tactics, as well as designing and developing advanced security policies and countermeasures to defend against advanced threats and adversaries. Sara's expertise extends to interagency collaboration and intelligence coordination with partner nations.
Having earned numerous awards and recognitions, including the United States Attorney Civil Service Award and other awards from the Intelligence Community, Sara holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Technology. She has completed numerous specialized training and certifications in cyber, intelligence, and program management, such as CISSP, Agile for Government, PMP, SEC+, CEH, and others.
