A Defense Institute of International Legal Studies (DIILS) team recently met with military members from El Salvador for a discussion on the law of armed conflict and international human rights law.

For more than 30 years, DIILS, located in Newport, Rhode Island, has been the lead U.S. Department of Defense Security Cooperation resource for global legal engagement with Partner Nation security sector institutions and personnel. As a component of the Defense Security Cooperation University, DIILS broad mission is to advance U.S. national security and foreign policy interests by building the capacity of foreign security forces to respond to shared security challenges in a responsible, accountable, and legally compliant manner.

Institutional Capacity Building for Logistics

The Defense Security Cooperation University's Institute for Security Governance (ISG) recently concluded the resident course: Institutional Capacity Building for Logistics in Monterey, California. This course educates students from allied and partner nations (civilian ministerial level and senior military leaders) about the importance of increasing the professionalization of their logistics forces to better sustain defense and security force capabilities, from a public administration and civil-military relations perspective.

ARLINGTON, Va. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency’s (DSCA) Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU) and their co-host, the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), facilitated the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Symposium, held May 23-24, 2024, at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. Approximately 250 policymakers, scholars, practitioners, and defense industry professionals gathered to discuss key issues facing the security cooperation community.
