Developing Cyber Organizations and Workforces

The Institute for Security Governance recently concluded its "Developing Cyber Organizations and Workforces" resident course in Monterey, California. This course acknowledges the importance of strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration in creating an effective military defense cyber organization to protect and defend military relevant and mission critical cyber terrain. Allies and partner nations sending students to the course understand that, to conduct defensive cyberspace operations, it is crucial to have a well-planned cyber organization with a well-managed and highly-skilled workforce.

DIILS and Ukraine Partner to Deliver Operational Law Course

The Defense Institute of International Legal Studies (DIILS) and legal colleagues from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense (MOD) recently partnered to conduct a two-week proof of concept training course on operational law. The course was specifically tailored to train Ukrainian legal advisors providing operational law guidance to battlefield commanders.

DSCU F-16 ICB Engagements and Advising with Bulgarian Partners

Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU) Institutional Capacity Building (ICB) teams, including the Institute for Security Governance (ISG) and a U.S. Ministry of Defense Advisor (MoDA), recently met with the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense and the Bulgarian Air Force to further their F-16 program, ahead of the delivery of the aircraft.

DIILS Partners with Vietnam

In June, a DIILS team traveled to Vietnam to conduct a two day human rights and law of armed conflict executive seminar with members of the Vietnamese military and other government ministries.

DIILS graduated thirty-eight students from the 2024 Cyber Law and Hybrid Warfare course. Countries represented were Austria, Belize, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Fiji, Ghana, Honduras, Indonesia, Iraq, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Latvia, Slovak Republic, Malaysia, Morocco, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, Slovenia, Tanzania, Trinidad-Tobago, Thailand, Taiwan, and Zambia.
