BUILDING NATIONAL RESILIENCE IN BULGARIA

In partnership with United States European Command (USEUCOM) and the Government of Bulgaria, ISG recently convened a workshop in Sofia to fortify Bulgaria's public-private partnerships (PPPs) in support of national resilience. The collaborative event – hosted by the NATO Crisis Management and Disaster Response (CMDR) Center of Excellence (COE) – gathered key stakeholders from Bulgarian national ministries and institutions as well as international partners to engage in strategic planning and Institutional Capacity Building (ICB).

Ms. Heidi Grant to become DSCA Director

Ms. Heidi Grant has been assigned as the new Director of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), ISG’s parent organization.  Ms. Grant is currently director of the Defense Technology Security Administration and has been selected to assume responsibility from LTG Charles Hooper, who recently retired after 41 years of distinguished service.

ISG Hosts Cyber Security Capacity Building Forum

The Institute for Security Governance hosted a Cyber-focused Forum to advance the development of DoD-capabilities to support partner country cybersecurity requirements. The online event brought together more than 80 cybersecurity capacity building stakeholders from across the Department of Defense—including each of the Geographic Combatant Commands and United States Cyber Command—the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

ISG Prepares the 2-135th Infantry Battalion for Horn of Africa Force Protection Mission via Remote Learning

ISG conducted an online seminar for the 2nd Battalion, 135th Infantry, 34th Division (Minnesota Army National Guard) from the 14-15 May 2020. The event was specifically designed to prepare the battalion for an upcoming mission in the Horn of Africa by providing insight from ISG’s regional experts and facilitating a productive dialogue among participants.

The Institute for Security Governance (ISG) International Defense Acquisition Resource Management (IDARM) team convened a two-week resident course entitled “Principles of Defense Acquisition Management” from 24 February – 6 March 2020.  Hosted at ISG headquarters in Monterey, California, instructors worked alongside participants to explore both the theoretical and practical aspects of defense acquisition and logistics decision making.

ISG IDARM team conducts "Principles of Defense Procurement and Contracting" Resident Course

The Institute for Security Governance (ISG) International Defense Acquisition Resource Management (IDARM) team conducted the “Principles of Defense Procurement and Contracting” resident course from 9-17 March 2020. Hosted at ISG headquarters in Monterey, California, instructors worked alongside participants to explore both the theoretical and practical aspects of the pre-award, award, and post award phases the contracting process. International best practices were examined along with the challenges associated with institutionalizing efficient and effective procurement processes.

ISG IDARM team completes Logistics and Life Cycle Management course in Brazil

The ISG International Defense Acquisition and Resource Management (IDARM) team has completed a two-week Logistics and Life Cycle Management course with our partners in Brazil.  This course, with military and their civilian counterparts participating, is the fourth in a series that is supporting the Brazilian military in this area and designed to support the long-term development of its logistics and broad life-cycle management.
