CCMR’s Maritime Security Program Manager Timothy Doorey supported the Naval War College’s Senior Leadership Seminar (SLS) in Libreville, Gabon during the AFRICOM/NAVAF annual OBANGAME EXPRESS (OE) 2018 exercise.

The CCMR team is sorry to report that our colleague, friend, and the leader of the Center for Civil-Military Relations, Director Rich Hoffman, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2018.

CCMR carried out its latest iteration of the Joint Humanitarian Operations Course on January 25th and 26th at the Naval Postgraduate School.

The International Defense Acquisition Resource Management (IDARM) Program recently held a two-week course entitled “Principles of Defense Acquisition and Contract Management” at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, California.

Spring iteration of Joint Humanitarian Operations Course coming January 26-27, 2018

To provide partner nation students with an understanding of defense acquisition negotiations, the IDARM team conducted an eight-day course entitled “International Defense Acquisition Negotiations” from 13-22 November 2017.

CCMR hosted a version of its biannual “Executive Program in Defense Decision Making” offering for 21 international military and civilian participants, from November 6-17, 2017. Often described as CCMR’s “flagship” course, this curriculum has been offered at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, California for over 20 years.

The IDARM program recently delivered a course entitled “Principles of Defense Procurement and Contracting,” from 30 October to 10 November 2017.

IDARM hosted "Principles of Defense Acquisition Management," (P159200) at CCMR Headquarters in October.

In response to the recent cluster of disasters occurring around the globe, CCMR has added an additional in-residence course entitled Disaster Management (P170472), scheduled at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, California from June 4-8, 2018

A three-person CCMR team conducted back-to-back mobile education courses in Thailand and Malaysia, delivering fresh curriculum developed by the Maritime Security Program entitled “Civil-Military Approaches to Building Maritime Domain Awareness Capabilities” (MASL #P319177)

With violence increasing around the globe, protecting civilians has become the cornerstone of United Nations (UN) peacekeeping mandates. In support of that mission, CCMR’s Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) program delivers a course entitled “UN Protection of Civilians – Train the Trainer.”

IDARM recently released a quarterly report detailing past activity and what's next for the program.

CCMR has issued its first ever quarterly newsletter, which details activity from April-June 2017.

CCMR and the Prevention, Relief, and Recovery (PR&R) team are busy reviewing a 2-week in-residence course offering entitled "Defense Governance," (P170024), which supports new requirements in NDAA Section 333.

Dr. Cristiana Matei, program manager of both the LATAM program and Intelligence and Democracy program at CCMR, attended the International Studies Association Annual Convention in Baltimore, Maryland from 22-25 February 2017.
